About

people socialising | bristol supper club

The Bristol Supper Club began in 1988, founded by two local people, as a non profit making gathering of friendly people intent on enjoying good food and good company in the ever changing restaurants in and around Bristol.

The committee is drawn from the membership, and gives it’s time and skills freely to make our club more enjoyable for the membership.

We do not have membership criteria but as a guideline, we are very broadly middle aged, some are married, but most are single. Prospective members are invited to sample one meal (as a Taster), chosen from our regular programme before joining our club.

The club currently has around 40 members. There is usually a fairly even mix between the sexes and no attempt is made to balance the genders.

We are a friendly bunch of people, so all new members are made welcome. Some leave for various reasons and then return, even after several years.

More information

Joining our club is an excellent way for newcomers to Bristol to discover the city whilst enjoying good food and making new friends.

The choice of restaurant is decided bi monthly by the committee, who all commit to hosting a meal in restaurants of various nationalities and prices.

Most meals tend to be held from Thursday to Sunday evenings, but we include some lunches. The programme includes a mix of old favourites and new destinations.

Every year we hold an AGM/Garden Party in the summer, and more recently we have introduced a Christmas Luncheon, both of which have proved very popular.

Membership costs £20.00 for the first year, and £15 per year thereafter.
