The Supper Club is a non profit making social club. It exists to provide members with opportunities for dining in restaurants in and around Bristol. It is run by, and for, its members.
Membership
Membership is open to anyone over 18, subject to the Committee’s agreement. There is an annual membership fee to cover expenses. No attempt is made to balance the numbers between men and women, either overall or at individual events. A membership list, with addresses, is circulated to organisers of events. Click here for more membership information & an application form.
The Club is run by a Committee of volunteers from the membership. It has discretion in running the Club to achieve the above aim. The Committee is elected at an Annual General Meeting but can invite members to fill vacancies between AGMs. Committee members are not paid other than that they do not pay annual subscriptions and they recover expenses such as the cost of stationery and postage.
The Committee reserves the right to withdraw membership from a member whose conduct is incompatible with the aim or running of the Club.
Events
Most events are at restaurants. The programme is coordinated by the Committee and circulated to members monthly. The frequency of events (no more than one per week) depends on the availability of members to organise them. All members who have been in the Club for more than 12 months are encouraged to organise at least one event each year. The Club will subsidise organisers’ meals to the extent of £10 per event.
